Join Air Cadets
The air cadet program is free and provides young people ages 12-18 with the opportunity to develop valuable skills such as effective communication, leadership and citizenship. Cadets start their journey with practical, hands-on learning before transitioning to leadership roles in their fourth year, when they take on the responsibility of running the day-to-day operations of the Squadron including instruction, evaluation, planning of activities, and supervision of all junior Cadets.

Our activities
618 Queen City offers a variety of activities in its training plan including leadership training, community engagement, military precision drill, marksmanship and aerospace familiarization.
We also offer extra-curricular activities including a band and a pilot training program.

Cadets can equally apply to participate in one of many summer training opportunities at Cadet Training Centres located throughout Canada. The opportunity includes courses on survival, sports and fitness, drill and ceremonial and music.
The commitment
618 Queen City meets once a week on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. from September to late May and occasionally meets on weekends for other activities such as training exercises and field trips.
Cadets are expected to actively participate in training and maintain a clean and up to standard uniform.
Once cadets have reached the staff cadet level they become the leaders of the squadron and are expected to help in the execution of training. This includes tasks such as preparing and teaching lessons to the younger cadets.
